Russian min asks for 62 bln rbl state support for cars in 2017
MOSCOW, Dec 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Industry and Trade Ministry has asked for a 62.3 billion ruble government support for the car industry in 2017, besides financial support of exports, Alexei Volodin, director of the ministry’s department for auto industry and railway machinery, said at a conference Wednesday.
“We expect that if we receive all those measures that we have asked for, then, under our calculations production will grow by 7%. We have asked for 62.3 billion rubles to support the industry next year besides exports. Additional support measures will be allocated to support exports,” he said.
In 2016, the government provided a total of 65 billion rubles to support the car industry.
The ministry projects that Russia’s car sales will total 1.45–1.5 million units in 2017, Volodin also said.
